A trick I have learned about green smoothies is to liquefy the greens first. So add in your greens and liquid of choice and run the blender until it is liquid with no discernible pieces. It helps it blend with the other ingredients better and for people who are leery of green smoothies it can offer a more even consistency. Read: no chunks of spinach or whatever green you are using. The totally time that adds on is roughly a minute and once you do this you can simply add in the other ingredients and do a final blend.
